Thanks Donald, I will be ringing that number and hopefully some work will be round the corner, at the moment I am pretty much open to any kind of employment because of my lack of finnish linguistic skills. Finlands a really beautiful country and I really want to stay here. I would be happy to offer whatever help I can to the organisation you are setting up. Im not entirely sure what use I could be, but I do have first hand experience of moving to Finland without work and obtaining residency so maybe I could help others.
As for the people who are thinking about moving here but have been a bit put off, I recommend to anyone to come and live here, the beauty of this country is breathtaking. I wouldn't want to be anywhere else at the moment.

I am native Finnish and would like to join also, if possible. Could share some information and possible be a link to Finnish byrocracy ;>)

I am myself unemploeyed. Because I am one of the "big age group", I have difficulties getting a job also. I worked last in a multinational mobile company in Helsinki. The business stopped here and the rest of the gang moved to Singapore. We had people from UK, USA, India and France and the official language of the company was/is English.

I am mainly having discussion on the Finnish side, but no when I found this side, I 'll probably come here also.

Hello Esko,

Good to see you're interested and, yes, we will gladly accept your membership. We do have Finns that are members already and hope more will join. Like you, I am also part of the "big age group" and find it tough finding employment here. Although, I am an American, I find the same discrimination that you find in the pursuit of putting bread on your table. It is not fair or right that it happens and it needs to be changed. Finland has one of the highest shortages of blue collar workers in the European Union with it getting worse with more people retiring and
leaving the work force for a variety different reasons. You would think that with the shortage firms would be more receptive towards opening up their requirements but for some reason their not. I have a family I need to provide for, and being a non Finnish speaker, work is real hard to find. I live in Salo which makes it very difficult to find work near where I live. I know what you are going through. The only way to change it is by belonging to a group that will work hard to change it. We envision this organization to do just that and, I promise, a large
active memberships will do that! Join today and be part of change here for all.

Best wishes,
Donald Jordan

Hello Donald,

Now we have something in common. Because I also live in Salo, though country side. I have been going for 3 years to Helsinki area to work in IT/mobile business. No I have been 5 months unemploeyed. I would like to work for Nokia or related company, but obviously they think that I am too old. Turku area suits also fine, but Helsinki is not so nice from here.

You could also email me. I don't remember, did I see the area of your work interest somewhere here around discussion board. I just started today to reed these English pages.

Hello,

It is time to start planning for a Saturday meeting during the summer. Bring your own food and drink, picnic style. What do you think?

Best wishes,

If someone wishes to have some "Bellringer's School" (Aleksis Kivi's 7 brethren) -style Finnish training in the Helsinki area I might be volunteering. Maybe just casual conversation in a pub after work/jobseeking or over coffee about daily stuff?

hi kati,
thanks so much for taking interest in my problem..i have done my Bachelors Degree in Commerce and i'm currently doing a certification course in Business English and Communication conducted by the British Council here in India ...i guess that might help a bit as one must continuously keep on adding up to your qualification.moreover my objective is to move outta India be it any other country so it can be Iceland, Denmark or whatever.right now i'm working in STANDARD CHARTERED BANK. i believe if this way we keep on interacting sometime or the other we can be of some help to each other and perhaps to the other members of this discussion board (thanks to Mr. Donald).
This is a great job done by him, thank you Mr. Donald.Seeking help from you all members of the discussion board.
