The project / The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH (www.giz.de) manages the first Technical Trainers College (TTC), an undergraduate institution granting a Bachelor of Engineering Technology, on behalf of the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC) of the
Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. With a target capacity of 1200 trainees in 2012, TTC is a large institution with more than 120 faculty members from 10+ countries (for additional information: www.ttcollege.edu.sa). Typical students who study at this "Training of Trainers" institution towards a vocational trainer qualification are young people of Saudi Arabian nationality, between the ages of 20 and 28 years.
Your tasks / The teacher trainers will be lecturing in the following fields:
• Mechanical Technology
• Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (ACR)
• Electrical Technology
• Information & Communication Technology
• Vocational Pedagogy
Teaching positions typically carry a teaching load comparable to German universities of applied sciences, of 18 contact hours/week during the semester. Previous teaching experience is essential. Responsibilities also include guidance of students during practical assignments in training institutions and companies.
Your qualification / Doctorate (PhD)/MA in Electronics, ICT, Production Technology, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration, Vocational Pedagogy, or any other related field relevant to the area of instruction; at least 5 years of academic teaching experience; international (teaching) experience and/or formal teacher qualification (e.g. German second state exam or comparable qualification) will be a definite plus; interest and ability to work in a multi-cultural environment; sufficient English language skills to teach in English; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel and Power Point). Additionally, there is a limited number of positions as Associate Trainers for internationally experienced practitioners, such as master craftsmen.
